Classroom piano tuning course

Classroom piano tuning course (piano teachers)

the School of Pianistic Technology of Buenos Aires was established and, aside from some existing schools in the, there was no professional training school for piano tuners. The ETPBA began specializing in distance piano tuning courses and continues to do as such, anyway since 1997 it also offers face-

to-face professional piano tuning courses for those who want to learn to tune their own piano or who want to grow professionally inside this activity.

Face-to-face piano tuning courses

Since he has become a world leader in the training of piano tuners, there was an entire development that followed the teachings of the School of Pianistic Technology of Buenos Aires and increased the courses in various

countries of the world. In any case, we have been sad to realize that these courses have many shortcomings because they are usually much of the time a bad duplicate of something that has not been surely known.

This is fundamentally the reason that has motivated us to compose this article: to offer some advice when attending face-to-face piano tuning courses for those who cannot take them

The first and most important advice is that the tuning courses of face-to-face pianos must be individual . It really saddens us to think about courses, set moving by some improvised ones in the task, which have a gathering modality. Faced with this we ask ourselves: how is it possible to teach how to tune pianos in groups?

This sounds so strange to us as saying that bunch lessons can be taken to learn to play the piano.Classroom piano tuning course A piano class must necessarily be individual, as the student must necessarily be playing the

instrument with the teacher. Similarly and considerably more, a piano tuning class must necessarily be individual as the student has to be with the way to tune in hand on the piano and with his teacher close to him making the appropriate clarifications.

Without a doubt, bunch piano tuning courses can be given yet we think that its unfeasible that at the finish of the course, the student has finished information on this technique. (piano lessons)

The second advice, and no less important, is that all face-to-face piano tuning learning that is deserving of being so-called implies that the student learns to tune in aural structure, that is, by ear. With this we strictly oppose those who claim to be called piano tuners by replicating what an electronic instrument indicates.

Unfortunately, there are many courses that offer an extremely concise prologue to aural tuning and focus your teaching on tuning using some PC software or electronic gadget.

In another of our articles, we explain inside and out the reason why we accept that those who tune pianos in this way are just a copyist, and that basically they have not learned, nor have they been busy learning, tuning pianos aurally. These "piano tuners" rely upon that electronic instrument because they cannot aurally set the recurrence of a note in a certain place, that is, they don't have a clue how to tune by ear.

The face-to-face courses offered by the School of Pianistic Technology of Buenos Aires are completely aural teaching, as well as distance piano tuning courses. In these courses, you will learn to tune ear pianos and not duplicate the tuning that an instrumental dictates.

Another issue that must be repaired when taking a piano tuning course is that those who teach the course are pedagogically prepared to teach, that is, they must be qualified teachers. By this, we mean that one thing is to realize how to tune pianos and another altogether different is to realize how to tune pianos.
